Hi there ...

... nothing much to see here ...
... unless you like to play dress-up, that is ;-)

Welcome to my fantasy dress-up game where I pick out clothing and try my hand at pairing it with fitting jewelry and accessories, keeping the advice of Coco Chanel in mind: 'Before leaving the house, take off one piece :-)
I hope you’ll have fun leafing through the posts and perhaps you have ideas to add to the posts, or an ensemble to showcase. Leave a comment; I’d love to hear from you and add your ideas! Unless it concerns a particular ensemble featured in one of the posts you can always comment on this post which will continue to be the most recent and will move forward in time as the blog grows. This is also the place for more general suggestions and questions you might have, or an ensemble you might want to showcase.
A few more words on comments: The name of this game is fun! Civility, decorum, tolerance and friendliness are mandatory to keep this an enjoyable experience for all. Of course, critic is welcome – just keep it constructive. Tastes differ and that is a good thing in need of celebrating rather than debating, here at least!
Chronology is subsidiary to the posts. While the titles reflected in the chronological side-bar tabs may be of some help you might find your way around more efficiently using the tags cloud. The tags cover
 - designer name (where available)
 - design year/era (where available) or ‘vintage’ (where known)
 - clothing type (gown, dress, jacket, skirt, etc.)
 - regarding dresses and skirts, the length (knee-, tea-, ballerina-, floor-length)
 - main clothing colour
 - clothing style (casual, occasion, cocktail, evening, black-tie, white-tie, etc.)
 - jewellery type by main gemstone / metal type.
That said: Thanks for dropping by, I hope that you'll enjoy browsing :~)

  1. Dear Miol Mor, I was delighted to discover that you have started a blog! You are my favourite stylist at DuchessKate and I have always looked out for your comments at the Royal Order of Sartorial Splendor. I admire your positivity, your witty way with words and Anne-Shirley-like descriptions. (I believe it was you who created the “nightly negativity cleansing regime”?)
I miss Splendoria and OoS – it was my go-to place for fantasy, friendship and fashion for eight years and even now, it feels weird to not check in with Splendoria most days! I am grateful to the creators and moderators at The Chalet but I generally avoid Facebook, preferring the blog format instead. (It’s also harder to follow everyone at The Chalet since I do not have Facebook on my phone). I enjoy Charlotte’s blogs but I rarely comment there, preferring to comment at OoS.
I’ve spent a delightful half-hour perusing your blog and am looking forward to watching it grow. Yours in all things beautiful and sparkly ~with a flip of the fluke~ Kate. (My Disqus avatar is a photo of rockpools).

    1. Warm greetings and a broad smile your way, Kate, and a Lady-like flick of the fluke (so as to not spoil the dresses and such :-) Welcome to my little corner! Of course I remember the rockpools! :-)
Between fellow Splendorists: Have you visited Lilibet's Handbag - hosted by Suds, Lovinlorne, Lucky Girl, and OrangeChia? My apologies if you're there already - I've been rather sporadic for a while ...

  3. P.S - Could you please explain how to comment as "Splendorist Kate" as opposed to "Unknown"? Please pardon my ignorance.

Ohhhhh-kay. Let's see what's up on the Name front so I've signed out to see how this works.
      1. Select 'Reply as' 'Name/URL'
      2. Put in your name, ignore the URL ~ blank works fine!
      3. Click continue. The 'Reply as' window should now show the name you've put in.
If not, my skills explaining are a pile of pure rubbish and I apologize! Of course as 'Good Morning Sunshine' I may be incognito? Well, hope it'll work out for you, Kate. Best wishes your way! Míol Mor.
